The Funky Munkyz' were born in 2002. Writing original tunes and covering everyone from Shaggy to Dylan, this crazy buch of musicians love to entertain. Known for their wild outfits and interesting music, you never quite know what you are going to get at a Funky Munkyz appearance. The Band first found its roots when brothers Alex and Trevor Grosholz began playing together in the summer of '95. They soon after formed the group TEA, which had one hit that still ranks number two out of the three alternative songs to come out of Davie on MP3.com. Now a part of the Funky Munkyz they present a more mature, eclectic, relaxed sound, but still come out and rock from time to time. Alex plays mostly acoustic guitar, but uses effects that create a unique sounds, Trevor uses an electronic drum set that sounds like the real thing if you close your eyes, and Todd prefers his cheap Washburn over his expensive Fender. Todd Jaspers, originally born in Chicago, grew up in Virginia in the DC Metro area rocking at the club 9:30 every saturday. Starting music early, Todd started his passion for music when he learned to play the violin at age 5. He now plays in a very prestigeous band known as the Funky Munkyz as a bassist.
